The first system providing geoscience professionals with 'high productivity' desktop access to both the 'hard data' and 'knowledge' contained in the wide variety of information provided in international data rooms. Users can access both the knowledge about an area, field or prospect contained in reports, studies and other technical documents as well as basic data - wells, geology, well logs, seismic, production, and reserves. Data can be accommodated in both digital and image form. IntraPAC is based on standard internet technology and uses the intranet to distribute information to users. It is easy to use, maintain and expand. The wide variety of data types and formats are organized and accessed through a common interface and browser. * A flexible, comprehensive, and powerful meta database is the foundation of IntraPAC. Basic data is cataloged using key words according to well data, production data, reserves, geodetic information, seismic, well logs and studies. Categories easily can be added and/or expanded to accommodate other data types or to incorporate data from other sources. * Another feature is the use of active web server technology which dynamically presents all documents and data associated with specific key categories in a single page. Additional key words to specific topics such as paleontology, source rocks, velocities, reservoir characteristics and reserves also are captured in the index and may be used to query information that may appear on a particular page within a document. * Standard embedded tools allow users to display, print and save or export data and documents for analysis and processing in other user systems. IntraPAC serves as a flexible data archive as well as a query and data access platform. The data set and software are designed to be used under a Windows NT Server with the Microsoft Information Server (IIS V2.0). At least 0.5 Gb hard disk space is required per data pack. Users require a compatible browser (Netscape V. 4.0 or Internet Explorer V. 4.4).
